Preservation of structure of social power by having individuals buy into idea of homogeneity, institutional access,and equal opportunity. Conformist mode of adaptation where individual accepts both cultural values of success and the institutionalized, legitimate, or conventional means of reaching these goals. Conformist both strives for material success and chooses law abiding ways of achieving success. It is the most common form of adaptation. Innovators accept the goal of success but choose to achieve it in an illegal and deviant way.
