In dsm5, anxiety disorders are organized into 3 categories that share many similarities: Anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, and trauma and stress. Anxiety is most common type of abnormal behavior. Commonalities with mood disorder (e. g. anxiety and depression often go together) Anxiety disorders also co-occur with several physical conditions (e. g. thyroid disease, respiratory disease, arthritis, etc. ) If someone never feels anxiety that is a concern (e. g. they may not have fear, which is associated with survival) There are effects, however, if someone has high levels of anxiety. All healthy people feel anxiety at some point, now and then. Anxiety is a warning low levels can be motivating. Antisocial personality disorder/psychopathy do not have anxiety. Maladaptive anxiety: high levels of diffuse negative emotion, sense of uncontrollability.
