Evolution is an ongoing process - some human variation is attributable to genetic differences: the rest is more attributable to environmental factors: Another important factor that in uences variation is sexual attraction/mating: a form of natural selection that results from intersexual competition for mates. People tend to mate with people who look like them. Genetic diversity is a fact and it"s ok to recognize differences between people: it"s not ok to group people based on things like race. Race is a culturally constructed category, not a meaningful biological concept. Ethnicity = sharing common origin (common biological ancestry), language, history, and cultural traits. Structural violence = violence exerted by situations, institutions, and social, political, and economic structures. Syndemic = adverse interaction between two or more diseases ensuring in an increased health burden for the affected population that is greater than the sum of the negative health impacts of each of the involved diseases.
