Talaris: a kind of tunic with narrower sleeves than the dalmatica, can be worn together with it with varying sleeve lengths or even with the colobium worn under both. Now see varied lengths in men and women"s tunics though women still longer. Hose: in this period soft shoes worn with leggings. Sumptuary law in 3rd century ce short breeches made illegal, at least in rome. Mantle: later a generic term before a cloak, not seen used before byzantines. Tablion: fabric draped over mantle, very identifiable for around 6th century ce byzantine, not greek or roman at all.
