Faq about writing scientific results: audience & voice: write your results section to inform the audience about the data from your experiments. You may use first person plural, e. g. we counted or passive voice or interchange between the two. Conclusions do not belong in the results section. This does not mean that you should not include p- values which tell us if groups of data are different. Figures should not be included in the results section. Yes, figures represent the data you collect and any subsequent analyses, but they belong at the end of your report in a figures section. Your results section text should refer to figures within the results section (figure 1): detailed methods do not belong in the results section, results and discussion are different. Always refer to your rubric or ask your ta.
