Once a socialist leader came to power, the cia had gone into guatemala to train soldiers to overthrow this government. Mexico: vincente fox has become president of this country. There is oil, drug trafficking, and border control issues. Nicaragua: the samoza family had owned 1/3 of the land within nicaragua and ruled the country. The sandanistas wanted to overthrow their rule, and did and then gained power within the government.
