9/27/12 Gazing Across Theories - NATO Article 5 o An attack against one or more of NATO’s members in Europe or North America will be considered an attack against all of them. In response, each nation will resort to its right of individual defense to restore stability. - NATO Article 2 o The parties will contribute toward the further development of peaceful IR by strengthening their free institutions (democratic peace theory), bringing about a better understanding of the principles of their institutions, and promoting conditions of stability.
