Paint has been known for thousands of years. Mainly used as protective coatings especially for metal or wooden surfaces: prevents rust, corrosion, and damage. Three main types of paint constituents: a carriers or binder, pigment dyes and additives, solvent. Hit and run: transferred from car to victim, left at a scene by a vehicle involved. Burglary: transferred from and a tool used to break in, transferred onto person breaking in. The collision between a car and another object. A crowbar used to force open a window: paint from the window can become smeared on the crowbar and paint from the crowbar can be left on the window frame. Pigment: various organic and inorganic materials to impart color, fine powders that do not dissolve but disperse evenly across a surface. Binder: holds the pigment particles together and onto surface, large number of different binders. Solvent: dissolves the binder and gives the paint a suitable consistency for application.
