The church of rome begins addressing the issues to keep people from leaving them for reform movements. Council of trent: 1545-1563 is the counter reformation. The catholic church addresses these issues for 18 years. They decide that the obvious stu was in fact wrong. The catholic church decides that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Everyone else is declared heretics and are excommunicated. Church intensi ed punishments for this and the religious church seeks out and punishes them. In order to get access to archives you have to be an approved scholar. French wars of religion: they start right when the council of trent ends. France is currently ruled by the queen regent who is a medici so pretty tight with rome. The french wars were civil wars and tons of people died. Navarre has to say that he"s catholic to become king. He wasn"t really catholic but puts the country rst.
