At the level of the individual, family, and neighborhood. Kids and adolescent exposure to violence, trauma, school alienation, and higher stress. Across all ethnic groups poverty is associated with harsh, inconsistent, and punitive parenting, and less involved. The st(cid:396)esses of po(cid:448)e(cid:396)t(cid:455) u(cid:374)de(cid:396)(cid:373)i(cid:374)e the (cid:395)ualit(cid:455) of people"s (cid:396)elatio(cid:374)ships at the neighborhood level. Mixed findings: adopted individuals who relatively higher rates of delinquency, substance use, psychological difficulties, and poorer school performance: magnitudes of differences are very small; when family resources and feelings about adoption are taken into consideration, special family forms. Adolescents who have spent extensive time in foster care are at an increased risk for emotional and behavioral problems. Companionship; spend lots of time with their peers, playing lots of games. Personal qualities are more important for who is friend. Conflict: topics switch to what is means to be a friend; strategies negotiation and resolution.
