PSYC 2103 Lecture 1: Chapter one The science of Human Development
Document Summary
The science of human development seeks to understand how and why people change over time. Report the results/share the data or conclusions. Replication is repetition of a study using different participants. It is important to broaden the range and diversity of the study to find more accurate results. Nature vs nurture debate: it is difficult to de(cid:272)ide (cid:449)hether a perso(cid:374)"s de(cid:448)elop(cid:373)e(cid:374)t is predisposed i(cid:374) their dna or majority of its influence is by life experience and their environment. Life span perspective: human development as defined by multiple aspects and frameworks such as life school ses and genetics. Contrasting critical period and sensitive period: both refer to a period where things can be learned easily or quickly. However, things cannot be changed after a critical period. (ie.
