Document Summary

Clouds and precipitation depend on the pressure. When cold air hits the warm air, warm air will move vertically up adjacent to the oncoming cold air. Cold air mass wall meets the warm air mass moving in opposite directions, initially nothing occurs. Begin to rotate slowly with small wave created which leads to a counterclockwise rotation. Warm air moves up north while cold air moves south. Cold air always moves faster than warm which uplifts the less energized warm air. Within undulations in jet streams (known as rossby waves - take 10 to 14 days to move across us) speed along straight edges and slow at bends. Could think about it like a traffic jam . (divergence) next, air nearby on the straight end- after the bend- will begin moving up counter clockwise creating a low pressure at the surface this is the cyclone.
