Clinton legislation regarding human trafficking was very progressive and fairly comprehensive, especially with its inclusion of labor trafficking. Bush administration following clinton"s presidency took a conservative and traditional interpretation of the legislation -> emphasis of religious coloring and sex trafficking over other types of trafficking. Obama administration has focused more of the resources to tackle trafficking domestically. Different sectors of the u. s. government that handles human trafficking issues: Doj prosecuting federal cases of human trafficking. Dos tip reports (has a special office for trafficking in persons) Health and human services authorizes funds to go to domestic victims of trafficking. Verite focused on labor trafficking (sex trafficking to the extent that its connect to labor trafficking) The implementation of anti-trafficking policies in the private sector is very complex (multiple layers): pressure/incentivize corporations, who need to p/i suppliers, who need to p/i recruiters.
