Criminal Justice studies the system of law enforcement.
Criminology studies the origin, extent and nature of crime in society.
Criminal Justice is:
A loosely organized collection of agencies.
Today it is social control, either formal or informal.
The modern era of justice can be traced back to research projects done in the early
1950s by the American bar Foundation. This was also when the term “criminal
justice system” started to focus on the criminal justice process: the discovery and
the analysis of the discretion.
