Document Summary
Review session on friday from 4-6 in harvard hall 201. Mcz tour next week -- need to sign up (email amy) Variation is the backbone of his theory of natural selection. The more you use a trait, the more likely it will be passed along. Ostriches: quick runners and efficient kickers -- wings are weak. Legs get stronger, wings get weaker over time. Cave animals all have low vision or are blind. Color of sea shells closer to shore versus in the sea. Flowers growing in groups -- two parts of flower develop at the same time. Appear to be one big flower instead of grouping, allowing easier pollinizing. Credited patterns of variation and correlation of growth over acclimatization and use and disuse. Eye: how could such a complex organ become so developed and perfectly useful. Leaps: how we get from a water-based animal to a plant-based animal.
