ENG 362 Lecture 1: ENG 362 Post 2
Document Summary
Everyman and hamlet undoubtedly have similar topics such as death and the afterlife, the consequences of our actions, and fate and free will. In my opinion, hamlet is more like oedipus for the reason that they are both unattainable characters who are seeking answers that lead to an unfortunate fate. Hamlet is a brooding and contemplative character who seeks revenge of his fathers murder by. He"s not just seeking revenge but he"s following the orders of his father"s ghost similar to the start of oedipus. In oedipus, tiresias, the blind prophet, tells oedipus what he knows about laius"s death driving him to find answers. Both of these characters have motives to solve a murder. The main difference that i could identify as a potential audience member is that as. Hamlet"s plot unfolds the audience is left wondering what is going to happen next as hamlet"s indecisive nature prolongs the result.
