All types are usually working together, not isolated. All four types of tissue types combine to make organs, and organs combine to make organ systems. The goal is to maintain a stable internal environment. Physiological variables of the body are maintained within a predictable range (set points) Homeostasis is a dynamic, not a static, process. Variables can change dramatically over a 24-hour period, but the system is still in overall balance. In order to maintain a setpoint, your body needs to know where you are and where you need to be. Set point that your body wants to keep. Within your body, you have sensors picking up where you actually are. Integrating center = receives information from sensors and make a decision on what to do based on that information. Integrating center communicates that information to an effector. Wants to get back to the set point.
