The control group was only monitored throughout the study and not offered the educational program. There was an immediate decrease in the amount of soda intake from the testing group, while intake slightly increased in the control group. After the year long program and trial period, the results were quite obvious. The control group experienced an overall increase of 7. 5% in regards to the number of overweight and obese children.
