The producer: acquires a property from the originating artist or, if deceased, her estate to produce in a form other than for which it was originally created. Producer seeks to (cid:498)capitalize(cid:499) the production: funds needed to produce the: capital is understood to be an asset rather than income (revenue production which is primarily ticket sales, capital and revenue are not the same thing. The producer(s) hire the stage director: the stage director is the individual who supervises the creative aspects of a dramatic production, s/he serves as a liaison between the production and the audience. The director: chooses or is contracted to direct a (cid:498)property(cid:499) Director develops what is called a (cid:498)concept(cid:499: interpretive director. Translates work of the primary artist and serves her vision: auteur director. Concept: a creative vision or central guiding idea drawn form specific instances or occurrences in the play.
