Woolworth eventually said they wouldnt allow discrimination after blacks would sit in and refuse to leave. Montgomery bus boycott in supreme court 1955. Claimed it was unconstitutional to refuse blacks. Mexican american legal defense and education fund. Effort by congress to say you can"t discriminate with pay. Said their roles were of wife and mother. Passed both houses of congress by more than vote. Every federal department and agency shall take action ot end discrimination in all programs or activities receiving federal aid. Unlawful for any employer or union to discriminate against any individual in any fashion in employment, and created the equal employment opportunity commission to investigate and enforce. The democratic party was full of people who supported segregation, when that failed they switched to republican party. Woman was taxed for her lesbian marriage.
