Erasmus always felt like the church needed corrections. In 1521 after luther"s arrest, erasmus writes a letter against luther, upholding the catholic church and it"s authority. When erasmus is 70 he learns that thomas more had been beheaded in england by henry viii over religion. Last words, wanted it recorded that he died of a broken heart. Wants the church not start a new one.
