Changing dynamics families are focusing on economic resources. How parents dispute about how to raise their children (micro-level) Modern families that become stressors for families. Unstable economic sources job, but don"t know if you can lose it. Things that have changed to alter the family. People are moving away from kinship networks grandparents. Losing social support like in rural setting. Neighbors don"t really talk to w/ community strangers. Wait longer to have children, have fewer. Women in work force but still doing domestic work = second shift. Having children increasing identity of being a parent. For women larger part than men. Entering role of not knowing what to do. As soon as parents find their footing, their child may develop into a new stage already. How you raised by your own parents. Will probably raise your kids same way. New mothers stay at home w/ young children. W/in a year, half of that group goes back to work.
