Nature exists independent of our ideas about: science is observational and experimental, science is rational, results of scientific inquiry are publicly reported and reproducible. Fabrication: making up date/results and recording/reporting them. Falsification: manipulating research materials/procedure so that the research record is inaccurate, plagiarism. Pathological science: legit scientists manage to fool themselves into thinking they are right and refuse to believe they are wrong. Junk science: when one side of scientists don"t believe another scientific theory is correct, used to deceive people w/ very little scientific backround. Pseudoscience: scientist is proven to be wrong but just won"t let it go, homeopathy. System of medicine that attempts to stimulate the boxy to recover itself: law of similar. Use a fever to cure a fever: law of infinitesimals. Lower concentration of a substance, the less potent it is: homeopathic solutions don"t work. The dosage it takes to actually get something out of the medicine is too much to possibly be able to consume.
