Document Summary
People want to communicate while they are moving around: practical way to communicate in this way is by radio. So we need to transmit our radio signal to another station, and they need to transmit their signal to us. Frequency is: high enough so that wavelength is short enough to utilize a short antenna. Should not need an extremely large battery or conversely, run out of a charge super quickly. You need a strong portable transmitter to be able to contact a fixed base station (which will connect to everyone else) Worked for car phones because they have large batteries that move with you when you"re driving around: not as great when you"re on foot. Bring base stations closer to the people: this reduces the need for phones to have high power requirements since they do not have a lot of power to transmit.
