Document Summary

The midterm exam will be held in class on wednesday, march 11. It will cover all the material from genesis except the story of joseph, but including the final chapter, the blessings of jacob, gen. 49. The exam is in three parts: fill-in-the blank passages (verses taken from the bible) to test your familiarity with the characters, places, and ideas in the biblical texts we have discussed. These will not be obscure details, but significant things we have talked about in class. If you prepare for the rest of the exam using this study guide, you should already be prepared for the fill-in-the-blank section: 5 short questions. Brief questions where you will identify and explain a concept, idea, or character, using specific examples, similar to the kind you had on the quiz. Topics will be taken from the terms listed on p. 3. 4 pts each; total 20 points: 2 longer questions. Aim for two substantial paragraphs, with specific examples.
