Cannot create or destroy energy, but it can be converted from one form to another. 2nd law of thermodynamics entropy (efficiency) Anytime you convert energy from one form or another, some energy gets degraded to a less useful energy. Putting things together to make something else. Activation energy- energy that needs to be put in for reaction to occur.
