Document Summary

Difference in how the chemical elements respond to heat and pressure. When these crustal plates collide, their differences in density will determine whether they sub duct (like in the western u. s. ) or build huge mountain ranges (like in the himalayas). Earth is separated into three different layers; core, mantle, crust. There are different layers because; within the earth. Density= a measure of how much mass an object has referenced to a common size density. The outer core floats on the inner core, mantle floats on the core, and the crust floats on the mantle. Convection= a force created when significant temperature differences exist within a material. The hot material flows towards the cool material. Increases between the earths crust and core, where each later has a higher. Oceanic= relatively denser, will likely sink into the mantle. There can be less or more dense plates so when the two collide the continent.
