Unlike tropical rainforests, if it"s hot and dry it"s easier to find fossils because they are preserved. Fossils are found where geological locations expose them. Fossils have been mainly found in north africa (chad), eastern africa, mainly in the olduvai. Gracile (thin boned) australopithecus (southern ape) actually they were hominins but when they found it they didn"t know. They found the full jaw and all her wisdom teeth had come in and begun to wear. They see that they have sexual dimorphism (two body shapes) among the g. australopithecus. Another site was the laetoli footprints and are dated to 3. 6 mbp ago which was found in the. 70s: it was a track of foot prints 80 ft long and it was of two adults and what looked like a child following them, footprint show that they are walking like we do. All the different species lived in different environments and are moving between different smaller environments.
