Jury nullification- the judge thro(cid:449)s out the jury"s (cid:448)erdi(cid:272)t (cid:271)ased o(cid:374) his/her u(cid:374)dersta(cid:374)di(cid:374)g of the evidence presented in the case. There are usually 12 jurors, but there can be 6 person juries in misdemeanors and in some jurisdictions. Lay witnesses are eye witnesses (perceived some information with your senses) and expert witnesses speak based on their professional knowledge and opinions. Expert witnesses must be found to be qualified by the judge to testify and are usually paid to testify.
