Mississippian: 700-1600ad, large, earth mounds, started in the mississippi valley and spread southeast, agriculture was pervasive and widespread. Main crop were corn, beans, and squash (known as the american triad) These three crops worked together nutritionally to provide a well- balanced diet and also prevented diseases: land managers. Used tools to manipulate the environment to work for them. Used fire to create game parks, make environment more livable: stratified society.
