Dyes- can be in solution or paste: paste used for printing, penetrates more than pigments. Fluorescent dye- make whites appear whiter and mask yellowing fibers. Skyed- expose to air: indigo or sulfur, oxygen needed to develop and fix color, indigo may be dyed up to 16 times. Resist- block or prevent color absorption during yarn and fabric dying.
