Session meeting day and time: thursday, 8 october 2020 9am-10:50am on zoom. Attending: mobeen, tomiris, bianca-maria, lisa, iqra, antonia, maira, mehek, saad, luciano, ludovica. We discussed the challenges of collaborating in a virtual environment. Social distance & lacking emotional connection: no boundaries between working and private space, building trust and relationships, cultural differences misinterpretation and easy to have miscommunication. Loss of our key senses: loss of physical connection. Tutor introduced problem-based learning and the 7 steps ( 7 jump ) Traditional learning (lecture-based): students are told what to know => memorize it => then apply it to a problem. Pbl: start with the problem => students identify what they need to know => learn & apply to solve the problem. Pbl is a more active learning method and closely follows how people intuitively approach problems. There are four important roles in a pbl tutorial: the discussion leader, the secretary, the participants, and the tutor.
