How it feels to be a poor mother. Why should we care about those that are poor: self interest. Chances are you will be poor at some point in your ife, how would you like to be treated if you were poor because it"s a good possibility you will be at some point in your life. Crime: opportunity structure and relative poverty increase crime. Doing good is private advantage: core set of american values. Liberty -freedom from arbitrary or despotic control, positive enjoyment of various social political economic rights and privileges. How poverty infringes: conditions you live in impair your ability to enjoy political social and economic rites and conditions. How poverty infringes on inherent liberty: speech, vote fair trial. Not able to get competent legal trial. Is poverty just: do people deserve to be poor because of actions or behaviors. Equality outcome (everybody equal income) vs opportunity (some have more income than others)
