A child struggles with inferiority complex during growth, striving for superiority and power. Karen horney challenged freud"s ideas on women, especially penis envy. Carl jung believed in collective unconscious holding images from our species" past. Images and myths from many cultures were common to each other, archetypes. Ink blots are an example of projective testing an implicit study of personality. Modern research: personality develops all through life, not just childhood. Fewer inhibitions today but just as many issues. (this is not the same thing as lgbtq+ stress issues. ) The unconscious mind does exist and process info. Abraham maslow proposed a hierarchy of needs. He designed it as an average, but not set in stone. When all needs are met, self-actualization is able to be reached. Carl rogers said psychologists must be judgement-free.
