This event takes place in scene 3, on page 79 of the script. Even though this is a very disturbing scene in text and on stage you never really see a husband beat his wife up. The script describes the fight scene by saying, all at once amir hits emily in the face. The first blow unleashes a torrent of rage, overtaking him. For it to unfold with emily hidden by a couch, for example. Reading the scene at first was particularly very foreign to me.
