B. Plato
1. Divorces himself from Athenian society and sets up a school

2. Believed that the quest of truth was separate from our world
Idea of the material and spiritual world
3. Believed that only those who have been enlightened and understand
truth should be the leaders
4. Uses an Allegory to try and explain why they killed Socrates, he saw
the light and truth that others didn’t
C. Aristotle
1. Works get lost for a little as the people likes Plato’s teachings better
(Christianity) but later come back

A. The Rise of Macedonia
1. Very different from Greek world
High mountains, big forests with lots of trees
Tribal people known as very good horsemen
Greeks saw them as violent, backwards and not as refined as them
