PSYC 2000 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Axon Terminal, Retina, Contiguity
Document Summary
With a textbook, the material may be interesting but not in the same way a novel is interesting. A textbook is a big thick steak,--all meat, no filler. Just as a steak has to be chewed to be enjoyed and to be useful to the body, textbook material has to be chewed with the mind. A novel is usually interesting to read and people want to know what happens next so they keep reading. One could say a novel is like meatloaf some meaty parts with a lot of filler. Just as the steak has to be chewed to be enjoyed and to be useful to the body. This same concept applies to preparing for an exam: you have to give yourself enough time. If you"ve read your material and taken good notes, you"ll be able to save a lot of time studying for the exambut you still need to give yourself ample time to go over all those notes.
