Whisk fern aka psilotum nudum- sporophyte with dichotomous branching- sporangia are ball like structures that produce spores for germination at the end of the diactomous branching, no roots, epiphyte- gets nutrients from air. Equisetum- horsetail fern- rough silica in little bands, hollow inside, longitudinal ridge, photosynthesis, conductive tissue. Staghorn- epiphyte, grows on tree and gets water and nutrients from the air. Marsilea- roots in sediment and the leaves float --- no lignified tissue.
