Roman temple front w/ pediment and frieze on top. There was most likely an eagle in the pediment. There used to be steps up to the building, but the pavement has risen from when the building was first made, so it"s flush with the sidewalk now and the steps have disappeared. Hadrian probably tore down the old pantheon marcus agrippa made and designed/blunt this one. Coffering lightens the dome ceiling and adds to the aesthetic. The coffering would"ve been painted gold in the middle against a blue background to represent the sky/heavens. Oculus - a giant hole in the ceiling, not glazed, just opened for all the elements to come in; double. Also lets you tell the time because the sun shines into the building through the hole. Each god has a statue in the niches on in the inside. Used to have augustus and julius statues on the porch.
