Identity is formed through diffusion and confusion. Identity conflicts help shape who we are. How identity is created in various cultures. Sense of self is independent and self-reliant. Group membership affects development of the self. Feeling connected to others and a higher purpose in life. When we compare ourselves to these groups we come to a better understanding of who we are. Due to the various groups we belong to we develop multiple identities. Multiple identities come into play based on context. Cultural factors come into play when discussing identity. We define ourselves based on the groups we belong to because of security and inclusion. We also need to differentiate ourselves from the group. Where does group end and self begin and vice versa.
