Text message, blog post, essay, memo, etc. Our understanding of bodies is tied to our culture and understanding of the world, symbolic interaction. Imagined idea of what others think of us forms our self image. You do not have a body, you do a body. Eyyyyy it"s west and zimmerman again doing gender . Bodies are dependant on how we interpret other bodies around us. Body as text to be read and understood. Values and meaning that are socially defined. Stories written by our interactions with our body, construct a narrative to understand our body as more than just parts. Topic ideas: fitness, crossfit, running, weightlifting, clothing brands, fashion, smoking, self harm/depression, plastic surgery, extreme, religion, rules/stipulations, sexual experience, sex and gender, body/sign language, modeling, aging v. youth, ptsd/war. Rhetoric: framing information for a specific purpose and a specific audience.
