Athens is the location of it all, considered to be the first democracy which excluded poor people, women, slaves, and non-landowners (it was direct and participatory where everyone who is a citizen can help make decisions) Socrates introduces a rational method which has questions regarding assumptions that people made. He is corrupting the young (teaching them to question authority figures) Young people are formed with the values and beliefs of the political community.
