Nothing similar to the nuremberg trials occurred until the early 1990s with what happened in. Ethnic cleansing occurred in yugoslavia and a genocide occurred in rwanda, nobody did anything in either situation. This led to a movement in the 1990s to create a permanent international court. Rome statue was signed in 1998 to create a permanent international criminal court to punish war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. Crimes against humanity and genocide are similar except for intent.
