The author overheard two men talking, about how one quit his job at warner brothers and who his boss was. The author quickly called the number of the guy"s boss and asked if they were hiring. The author had an interview and was hired. He basically was a glorified courier and was given legal documents to take to the people warner brothers were doing business with. He figured this was a great way to meet powerful people in hollywood and beverly hills. He did end up meeting lew wasserman, william blatty, william friedkin, warren beatty and many others. Meeting these people showed him the other side of the movie business and inspired him to go on to produce movies like apollo 13, friday night lights, splash and a beautiful mind. Curiosity and asking questions can open many doors. For example: this man told the secretaries that he had to interact directly with the people warner.
