Environmental change: a lot of earths surfaces have changed a lot over time, used to be sea shells in high mountains like the grand canyon, many shallow seas, marina reptiles, fish in kansas. Continents move: theory of plate tectonics, earths crust made up of plates that change in position, continental drift. Conclusion: living species have ancient origins, how humans used to have tails, but got rid of them because they are not useful.
