Neurotransmitters release chemical messages into the synapse. The neuron doesn"t know when it needs to take it. Deactivation enzymes: can break down messages and clean up the synapse. Reuptake: is when the left over message is reabsorbed by the sending neuron. Neurotransmitters lead the brain in daily functions- links the nervous system to our behavior. Too many or too few can cause some problems to health. Location: brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. Function: effects matter control; attention; memory; hearing, and sleeping. Fun fact: -ach is inhibited by botox injections; people with alzheimer"s lack ach. Function: aids in anxiety reduction, inhibits action potentials, involved with intoxication. Fun fact: anxiety disorders are related to low gaba production; seizures also are connected to low gaba= over active brain. Function: functions in emotional states, efforts impulse control, and dreaming. Fun fact: often associated with depression which is caused by low serotonin.
