Reducing laryngeal tension: use melodies and rhythmic syllable productions to develop and maintain adequate phonation. Lee silverman voice treatment (lsvt: effective treatment for parkinson"s disease (ramig, 1995, requires certification, basic concepts: Quantifying improvements: hierarchy from sustained phonemes, to words, phrases, sentences, conversation, intensive program: 16 sessions over 4 weeks; emphasis on vocal loudness. Symptomatic voice therapy: approaches and techniques to modify specifically identified vocal symptoms.
