In the story bellwether written by connie willis, i found the characters that most stood out to me as chaos and order were sandra and flip. However, i think that sandra has subtler order aspects to her personality through out the story. Wieland-burston says in his essay that, chaos can evoke very different reactions. Spontaneously, most of us tend to react negatively. The more we are personally attached to order, the more it means to us in our lives (pg. I think that this quote has a lot of meaning when thinking about the story of bellwether. Sandra may have a spontaneous and uncontrollable, negative reaction to the term chaos. Although most of us also have the same reaction to the term, it is clear in the story that flip does not have this same reaction. The book perceives flip as a lazy and sloppy individual who isn"t really willing to put in a lot of effort.
