Important factors of script analysis: concept, theme, spectacle, and given circumstances. What the director and production team come up with. A way to look at a play, the lens you put over the play. For example: macbeth and moving it to a different century. Driving force behind the spectacle of a play (see notes below on spectacle) Does not drive the acting: only drives technical aspects. Might make a difference in body language, but not much else. Most common concepts involve changing the time period or place of the play. Nothing production team should ever worry about. Don"t work for a theme, it just comes out of your work. Basically all technical aspects: costumes, set, light, props, sound, etc. Actors don"t need to worry about it very much: might affect blocking. Your basic who, what, where, and when : don"t forget about specific when"s, like time of day, time of year, etc, or specific where"s.
