Photosynthesis = light chemical energy to make sugars that are stored as starch. Co2 is absorbed into plants by carbon fixation. Water comes in through the roots and is transported by the xylem, which only runs from roots to shoots. Vascular tissue: xylem water flow only runs from roots to chutes.
